There was a good yarding of fat cattle, and the best quality were in steady demand. Poorer lots were irregular. Extra heavy steers sold to £lB 12s Cd, prime £ls 5s 6d to £l6 10s, medium £lO 10s to £l3 10s, extra heavy heifers to £ls 2s 6d, prime £ll to £l3 ss, medium £8 15s to £lO 10s, plain from £6 7s 6d, extra heavy cows sold to £l4 17s 6d, prime £9 to £l2, medium £7 10s to £8 15s, plain from £5.
There was a very small yarding of store sheep, eliieliy oddments, and an irregular sale. There was a large entry of fat sheep. The market, however, was much easier at the commencement, but hardened near the finish. Extra prime heavy wethers sold up to 33s 10s, prime wethers 26s to 295, medium 23s to 255, light 16s to 20s 6d. Special heavy ewes sold to 29s 7d, prime heavy to 25s Id, prime 19s to 225, medium 15s to 18s, light 12s to 14s, inferior from 9s.
There was a sliorl supply of lambs. Extra good lambs sold to 31s lOd, prime 25s to 28s, medium 21s 6d to 24s 6d, light 17s to 19s 6d. There was a smaller yarding of fat pigs. Pork and bacon were selling freely at late rates. Choppers fetched £4 to £6 15s, extra heavy to £ll Is, porkers 47s to 565, heavy 58s 6d to £3 13s 6d. The average price was BJd to 9.Vd per lb. Medium bacon sold £3 14s 6d to £4 17s 6d, heavy £5 14s 6d. The average was 7-ftl to 8£ per lb.
