The tote turnover for the day was £42,4721- being only £2912 less, than the opening day last year. The attendance for an off day was well up to the average. L. Matheson, rider of Zippor in the first race, broke liis collarbone when his mount fell. Trentham Hurdles:—(6) Nucleus d, (1) Amorist 2, (3) Carinthia 3. Scr: Archibald, Apache, Mountain Guide,. Nukumai. Won by 2 lengths, third' half a length awy. Time 3.11 L Whyte Handicap:—(2l Best Friend 1, (7) High Pitch 2, (1) Mendip 3. Sir: Helium. Won by a nose, third o lengths away. Time 1.46 1-5. Te Avo Hack Handicap:—(9) Town Major 1, (5) The Warden 2, (10) Brilliant Light 3. Scr. Whisogne. Won by 2 lengths, third a head away. . Time 1.28 3-5.,
