CHRISTCHURCH, July 7

Awaking to find their home in the grip of fire the occupants of a six roomed house in Lyttelton Street, Spreydon, had a lucky escape early (yesterday motrning. They had only time to get clear in their night attire. Airs Jack, an elderly woman, was the owner and in the building were also her married daughter and grand-daughter. .aged six and two sons. The house, which was a fairly old wooden structure, burned fiercely.
