ON TIME

CHRISTCHURCH, July 5,
The weather is overcast and cold rain fell overnight making the ground sloppy, the train from Hokitika arriving on time after a good trip. The city is very full of visitors and the capacity of the ground will be taxed to the utmost. Owing tVvveather conditions covered seats are’ at a premium of ten shillings and scats are bringing five pounds and in some instances higher prices, most of these seats being sold for charity purposes. The Returned Soldier’s Unemployment Fund will benefit considerably. The game is generally expected to he a close forward one owing to the state of the ground. BIC CROWDS ARRIVING. CHRISTCHURCH, July 5. Big crowds flocked to Lancaster Park all the morning, thousands having arrived by special trains from all parts. The gates .opened at 9.30 when two hundred were waiting. After rain all night the ground is sodden hut the weather at noon showed signs of clearing, though overcast.
