A me-sage from Salt Lake City stales that the Southern Cross arrived ihcrc at 8.30 o’clrv-k this evening, local time, from Chicago.

When Kingsford Smith and his companions arrive at Oakland (California) todnv. the Mayor, Mr Davie, and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr Field, will greet the quartette.
A parade to the City Hall will follow, and in the evening there will be a banquet. TCach will receive a scroll and the flying Aiikpc will be presented with a wedding gift. San Francisco will b» holding a celebration on the following day.
