UNEMPLOYMENT
INSURANCE SCHEME

WELLINGTON, July 3,
The recommendations of the Unemployment Committee was .supported by several delegates at the -Manufacturers’ Conference to-day. The President, Mr G. Finn (Auckland) expressed himself strongly against any scheme, of unemployment insurance. However, bowing to the opinion of the meeting, lie withdrew portion of his remit, relating to insurance ThA remit submitted by Mr Finn was as follows: —“That this Conference is .strongly of opinion that unemployment insurance, in any form, is an aggravation, rather than a euro for unemployment; that properly constituted development of Industrie, Hoard could do much to solve the unemployment problem ; and that the Government lie again approached with regard to its establishment.
After discussion and the elimination the last sentence of the remit was carried unanimously.
