AIR O’BRIENS'S TRIBUTE

WELLINGTON. June 27
In the House to-dav, the Member for Westland spoke to a motion that the sympathy of Parliament be extended to the family of the late Hon. H. L. Michei. Mr O’Brien stated that lie did not think that anyone in the Dominion had ever given such social service as the late Hon. gentleman had done in his district. He had been associated with W estland s development for over sixty-five* years. There was hardly one position .in the public life of the district which he did not fill at some time or other. No one hud held more honorary positions. He was one who had helped to build up the West Coast’s reputation for hospitality and for kindness. He was one of the best-liked men in the Dominion.
