In regard to land Settlement arid Unemployment r .,in particular; What Parliament and the country both require is not so much debate and' discussion as action., The Unemployment problem demands capable and energetic treatment that will not only/alleviate the present, distress, but, wi|l secure the confidence ’of .‘the,, .electors, both in the Government’s good ;.jh. tentions and in its practical ability and statesmanship well. : Mr Forbes lias made a good .beginning, in his new office, and we have no doubt that he will prove himself equal to its weighty responsibilities. But lie; and his colleagues will need to strain every nerve and utilise opportunities to . the utmost to handle., these, matters sue- . cessfully and clear away the . urgent**-' business of the session, in time to allow our Prime Minister to represent us at the coming Imperial Conferencf. —Auckland Star..
