Chicago authorities have announced they know the murderer of l.eagle cabled yesterday. Rarely before ill the history of Chicago crime, has the city been so aroused as over the murder of the journalist. Rewards of forty thousand dollars have been offered for the apprehension and conviction of the slayer, while the entire city has been organised on a great murder hunt. The police state the attorney’s private detectives and the organised power of the press have joined to track down the killer of the mail, who during eighteen years service, came to “learn too much’’ about Chicago criminals.
