Ashton, the multi-millionaire Lancas_ shire manufacturer, whose death was recorded on May 27, is reputed to have been worth between twenty and thirty millions. He died intestate. His aged widow is thus entitled to a life interest jn one.. half, of the estate,and his daughter, who married Lord Peel, is entitled to the whole of the estate after her mother’s death. Ashton's linoleum factory in Lancashire alone employs 3fi,000 hands.
