HOKITIKA CADETS
May 31st, being the • end of the Military training year, the local Cadets have ceased parades until such time as postings are completed. During the past year two Cups were donated to B. Company. The donors are: The Hokitika R.S.A. Miniature Rifle Club and Mr Robert Lynn. The officers of B. Coy. desire to thank the donors most heartilv. as competition in the Coy. for cups and prizes lends interest to the work. The Cups will remain the property of tin Coy. and will be competed for each year. The competition for the Rifle Flul Cup was shooting bv first year Cadetand, for the Broeklclnirst Cup the most efficient Cadet the Coy. Besides these two Cups there was the Lady Godley Challenge Cup foi the highest musketry score in the Coy. The following are the winners of the various cups: —“Lady Godley Cup’ Cadet F. West, score 95, possible 109 : “Rifle Club’s Cup,” Cadet R. Invin. score 74, possible 85. This is a very ci/editable score for a Ist year Cadet The competition for the Broekleluust Cup was open to the Coy. and was very keenly contested as points were awarded for attendance, dress and general efficiency. Two Cadets DM for this Cup with possible points. 200 each so it has been decided to engrave both names on the Gup. the winners being Cadet R. Cox and Cadet Cnnuiey. These hoys are to he congratulated on their winning as both are Ist year Cadets and were competing against 4th. year Cadets. The Cups will be presented at the Military Ball on September 2nd.
