As the result of Signor Mussolini’s violent speeches, it is unlikely that the French Government will resume the naval negotiations with Italy at present. A note on the subject was received from Rome on March 3rd. This will remain unanswered until more favourable circumstances. “M. Pertinnux,” in the “Echo De Paris,” says; “Now- that Italy has shown that she intends to persist m her original naval programme, France und be constructed to revive her original programme, and even to reinforce it considerably.
