BIG GERMAN DEFICIT.

BERLIN, May 22
The German Government is expected to face a deficit of £10,000,030 at the end of the year. This is mainly due to unemployment, the unemployed numbering still more than two million. Two courses are open to the Cabinet but both would create difficulties. The first is to increase taxation, and the second is to raise the unemployment contributions.

Contradictory reports are coming through concerning the Pilgrim ship Asia, but it is now believed that all of the crew and passengers are safe. *
FIJI MURDER
SUVA, May 24. The bodies of two East Indian women and five children were found murdered in the province of Ra, Fiji. The remains were charred indicating an jittempt had been made to burn the bodies which bore head injuries, probably front a knife. A suspect has been arrested.
GERMAN MOTOR COMPETITION
BERLIN, May 25
Motor competition has worsened the economic situation and is held responsible for the loss of twenty and a half millions sterling last year by German railways.
