Davidson wathced unhceasingly at the ' bedside of 1 fieri Kri^band. Before his death, he raised his hand ns though to salute her. ' A faint smile played about'jiiis lips, but for the most part, he' lay f quietly with his eyes half open. He died peacefully in his sleep. A little crowd. Of people waited all *day outside his house the doors of which remained closed.
