ASSAILANT CAPTURED.

An attempt to slioo-t Lord Strickland, thd> Prime Minister of Malta, was made, in the law court at Valetta, the Malteste; capital. Lord Strickland was uninjured, thanks to the prompt action of a policeman, who seized the hand of. the assailant, a one armed man, and directed.the shots upward to the ceiling.: Lord Strickland remained unmoved by the episode ai;d watched while the assailant was removed by the policed " Lord Strickland was afterwards the centre of a great ovation by 'large I crowds. \

The King, has sent a message to Malta stating that His Majesty was shocked to hear of the attempt on '< ord Strickland’s life and was thankful.' for the- failure of the dastardly act. . /

SUGGESTION OF FASCISM.

Police raided a club in Malta where Miller lodged. They found some photographs of Signor Mussolini and also soipe copies of the Fascist hymn.
