The report of Sir Douglas Maw son on the Australian and New .Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition that it can be definitely assertal that off the coast of Enderby Land- there exists a very valuable whale fishery. “It would appear that the Norwegian exploring vessel Norvegia located .this whaling ground simultaneously- with ourselves, and. from that fishery mfL lions of pounds! worth of i product*, will be recovered hr the next few* years.” , The report adds that exhaustive hydrological data have been recorded, while biological studies were continued throughout the cruise on an extensive scale. • The report also deals with ex,perinces in the pack -ice, after which Sir Douglas Mawson states that <be chartered a new area which he has designated Macßobertson Land, together with lands further west known as Kemp Land and Enderby Land. The whole of these have been claimed For the- Crown.
