GRAFT CHARGES

IN FEDERAL-HOUSE. (Australian. Press Association) CANBERRA, May 23. The inquiry by Royal Commission was to-day resumed into the allegation of Air Roland Green, a member of the Federal House Public Accounts Committee, that the other members of the Committee had been bribed by the A Class broadcasting stations in con nection with their claim'for compensation against the Federal Government, which took over the A Class broadcasti ug. Major AY. T. Cornier, former manager of the 3 L.O. Broadcasting Station. .Melbourne, denied Air Green’s allegations of his attempt to bribe him. Alajor Cornier declared that Green sought his company invited him to lunch, and. asked him for free theatre tickets. Cross-examined, Afajor Cornier said that he did not suggest, that Green was going about trying to obtain a bribe as the price of his vote in favour of the claim for compensation. Judge Dethridgo (Commissioner), to witness: —“But, compared with the other members of the Public Acounts Committee, Cron rather thrust himself uiioii you?” AA’itness: “A'es.” The Judge: “Nevertheless, you did not discourage bis felicitations?” AA’itness: “No 1 would have bad to be rude to him, and 1 didn’t want (oMie the one to turn against him.
