The Crown Prince of Norway’s -beautiful white mansion at Skougum has been burnt to the ground, and pnmtieaily all. the contents lost, including many priceless treasures. The dead body of Mrs Carrie Whitehouse was found partly dressed in an open road at Gatcly, Manchester. There is no evidence of violence or foul play. Her husband, Capt. Whitehouse, whom she married in 1913, is believed to he in New Zealand. Mrs Whitehouse lived alone in an apartment house in Manchester.

LONDON, May 23
At the wool sales 6,272 bales were offered, intruding 4,202 from New Zealand. About'' 5,740 were sold. There was a medium offering of largo crossbreds slips with a strong general demand. ; Prices were very firm.' Three shots were fired at Lord Strickland. The assailant, named Mills r, is a notorious delinquent supporter of the Nationalists.
