D'ulieu) 1, (5) Perle de Leon 2, (2) Elicit 3. Won by eight lengths; half a length. Time 3.51 2-5. Connolly Handicap.—(l) Bright Glow (H. Gray) 1, (9) High Falutin’ 2, (5) Admiral Drake 3. Won by a short head; three-quarters of a length. Time 2.7 4-5. Borough- Handicap.—(B) Equitant (W. Broughton) 1, (1) Royal Parade 2,' (7) Melissa 3. Won by a long head; a head. Time 1.13 4-5. The tote showed an increase of £1789 compared with the first day of the 1929 meeting, £22,566 being handled as against £20,778.
A WOMAN JOCKEY
LONDON, May 14
Dlrs Arthur Heald, niece of Earl Denbigh', is challenging the Jockey Club to decide whether a woman can become a jockey and is applying for a license to ride in the Derby. She points out that she has ridden in sixteen, point to point events, trials and hurdles.
