LATE LOCALS.
Miss Ella Robertson has been asked by special request to give an operatic solo dance in to-night’s performance. This dance was put together entirely by herself and was commented on by the judge, Miss Waugh, as a delightful dance and a credit to the performer, and remarking that the dainty little dancer would go far in her profession.
The management has arranged for extra seating to be provided for the second Demonstration 'Concert at ■Princess Theatre to-night. Several country parties are motoring in for the entertainment which will start punctually at 7.30 o’clock. By request' a visitor from Christchurch will render a special vocal number.
Tt is understood a writ has been issued in the Supreme Court by an ex-resident of this district claiming £SOO damages for alleged breach of promise. The defendant resides in the northern district, and it is believed the suit will be defended, and probably will be heard at the next
