The Industrial Court has granted an application made by the Crown for the lengthening of the hours of all of the Queensland Government employees from 44 hours to 48.

Official statistics show that Australia is losing people by migration. During the three months to the end of March, the excess of permanent departures over permanent arrivals was 2,217, which is believed to be due to the general depression. The influx of southern Europeans in Australia, however, has been definitclv checked.
