Thousands of whiteclad children bearing the Crusaders’ Cross on their breasts, many of them being African converts, received Communion at the hands of the Cardinals and Bishops while four thousand of the delegates to the Eurcharistic Congress knelt in prayer at the open ail' service, preparatory to the inauguration of the Congress. Delegates and pilgrims were present from all parts of the British Empire.
