A LUCKY ESCAPE

CROSSING COLLISION

GORE, May 8,

Two occupants of a milk delivery van miraculously escaped serious injury as a result of a crossing collision with the Invercargill-Clinton goods train near Mataura this morning. The van was carried for twenty yards and smashed almost to pieces. William Given, a young man, sustained injuries to his head and back and was taken to the Gore Hospital. R. Kilpatrick, of Charlton, received cuts to the face, hip and scalp hut was able to proceed home.
