CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW

A FINE DISPLAY

The annual Chrysanthemum Show held under the auspices of All Saints’ Church took place to-day at the Soldiers’ Hall. The large floor space aas filled with tables to display one of the finest shows yet held. The 'Mums themiselves were a wonderful collection,, the blooms being of a very high standard, the whole making a splendid display. . The cookery section, thanks to an invasion from the country • districts was also easily the best presented locally and again the display is very fine, the quality being of the highest class.

Vegetables were in fair quantity and this section also showed quality. The fancy work and school classes all filled well and added to the general attractiveness'.

Mr J. Lincoln secured the special prize for the (best local grown bloom in the Show, and also the Keller Cup for the best six blooms.

The Judges, v/ho got through with their tasks promptly and successfully were:—Cut blooms: Mr J. J. Breeze. Vegetables; Mr F. Groufsky, Cookery: Mrs Htinz and Mrs* Malboh. Fancy Work: Mrs Langford and Mrs Saywell. School Work: Mi’s Geo. Perry.

The Show was opened at 2 p.m. and there was a large attendance present all the afternon. Thb tea room was kept busy, also the sweets it all and produce stalls,
