A charming story which has . captured the imagination of the newspapers is recorded to-day. A Gloueester girl, betrothed to a wealthy youne business man, had the choice of rich furs and sparkling jewels as a present. She declined all and said she would be happy if every blind man, woman and child in Gloucestershire could be provided with wireless sets. -

Vhe news was revealed when a young man walked into the National Institute for the Blind, and askecl the cost of providing and maintaining these sets .forever. The staggered officials worked out the cost and told him in the neighbourhood of ten thousand sterling.

“Very well they have it,” said the man, who declined to giue his name. “It isn’t my gift, but a present fr<jm my future wife,’’ lie said, as he handed over, the cheque.
