N.Z. BUTTER
CANADA QUADRUPLES DUTY
[United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright].
WINNIPEG, May 5
The New Zealand newspaper editors, who* arrived here on Sunday on route to England for the Empire Press Conference condemned the three cent, increase in the import tax that is to be levied by Canada on New Zealand butter.
Mr A. E. Manning, Editor of the “Waikato Times” considered the proposal an iniquitous one, and expressed the belief that it would lead to reprisals on the part of New Zealand.
