NEW.PLYMOUTH, April 30. A theft from a bedroom in the Criterion'Hotel and: the use of. explosives in attempts to .open safes at, New Plymouth and Stratford were recalled in the Police Court to-day. Llewellyn Pride pleaded guilty and was committed'for sentence, on charges of receiving a wallet containing property. valued at' £l3O, knowing it had been dishonestly obtained, and of forging a cheque drawn on the Bank of New Zealand, at Palmerston. : /Price also admitted;that at Upper Hfitt, in .December with intent fo.' defraud Louis Taylor Dowley, he obtained ; a suit by fa]se pretence that he was a farrn- - with a banking accogiyt. > .He was conv'ictidd., Sentence ' was deferred. ' Robert. Harvey Campbell was charged -with the theft of Ihe wallet and with' breaking and entering the office of the New.
