She is a greyhound ©f the sea carryingsliiO'..-officers and men, four 4.7 guns,-un, addition, to eight torpedo tubes on .quadrangle carriages.;;-Thus she can .discharge the heaviest salvo of . torpedoes of any desti'qyey.in the world. Near the Acheron are two similar destroyers for Canada,,,.the Saguenay •and" Skeena, which,, : ,-have , stronger framework than the Acheron owing ■it.o the liability to cruise .in ice injected waters. Tlier,Canadiait -destroy-t-rs are costing £670,000.
