FRENCH CRUISER

LONDON, April 22
The “il>aily< Telegraph’s” naval writer says that France intends tc. proceed immediately with the building of a 27,090 tons cruiser, carrying h 12-in guns, and being incomparably superior t-o the German pocket battleship “Ersatz Preussen,” and practically equal to any battle cruiser afloat eeept the British warship “Hood.” The range of the French guns will ;>e over 22 miles.
The cruiser will cost four million pounds and will take three years ti comnlete.
France is not disposed to permit a repetition of the situation at the outbreak of the war, when she had not a single shin which could have caught or overpowered the “Goehen.”
