MOTOR SMASH
TWO KILLED.

WANGANUI, April 18,
Two people wore killed and another was seriously injured to-day, when a sedan car hit a power pole at the edge of Wklestraight Bitumen Road in a Wanganui suburb. The killed are: Mr Huia Jefferies aged 22, married, no family, 130 Ghrrnee Street, Wellington : and tint driver of the car, Mrs M. McCarthy, employed at Victoria Hotel, Petone. The person seriously injured is F. Aloski, Ghuznee Street, Wellington. Aloski suffered serious head injuries, the actual extent of which is not yet known, but his condition is critical. Mrs Agnes Jeffries, wife of the driver, isustained a broken arm and shock.
When the impact occurred the right hand side of the car was practically -ripped off and the car then careered 150 yards along the street, with the front wheel scraping the kerb. Those concerned were visitors to Wanganui, having just arrived from Wellington.
