ADDINGTON STOCK SALE.
CHRISTCHURCH, April IG. Entries were not very large to-day at Addington sale. , Fat Cattle.—-There was a medium yarding of beef, mainly unfinished lots. The market was irregular. Heavy steers sold £l7 10s to £lO l- s 6d, prime £l4 10s to £l6 10s, medium £l2 to £l3 os, plain £9 10s to £ll Us 1 best heifers £l2 to £l3 17s Gd, prin £9 to £ll, plain £6 'os to £7 15s heavy cows £ll t-o £l2 10s, prime £8 os to £9 os, plain £7 to £B. Fat sheep.—There was a medium entry of fat sheep, the quality being mixed. Competition was good for the best quality, and hardened as the sale proceeded. Prime heavy wethers sold to 30s lOd, prime .26s to 28s, medium 22s Gd to 255, light from 17s, extra heavy prime ewes to 23s lOd, prime 17s Gd to 21s, mediums, 14s to 16s Gd, light 11s Gd to 13s, inferior from 9s. 'Vat lambs.—There was a smaller yarding, mixed in quality, with many plain consignment. Values wefre slightly firmer owing to the light yarding. Extra heavy prime sold to 27s 4d, prime 22s Gd to 26s Gd, medium 20s to 21s 6d, light from 15s. Store sheep.—There was a medium entry of lambs with several pens o'f good quality. The best sorts sold up to IGs lOd, medium lbs 6d to 14s, inferior from 7s, culls from 4s. There was a large yarding of adult sheep. Competition was satisfactory for the better classes, but poorer sorts met an Irregular sale. Pigs.—There was a fair yarding of fat pigts. Values were easier, especially for baconers. Medium porkers sold 48s to 555, heavy 58s to 6.35, average 7} to 8£ per lb. Choppers sold £3 to £5 3s 6d, baconers £3 to £3 17s Gd, heavy £4 to £4 10s, extra to £5 2s Gd, .-average Gd to 6} per lb. Store pigs were easier.
