FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA'

(Australian Press Association.)

ADELAIDE, April 13

The South Australian election counts now, show that Mr Macintosh (Commissioner of Works) retains his seat, which has been precarious, but Mr Jenkins (Minister of Local Government) has been defeated. Labour now has thirty seats, the Liberals twelve, the Country Party two, and two seats in Flinders are still doubtful. The Butler Ministry .'resigns ion Monday.

The Labour Party meets on Wednesday to select the new Cabinet.

WEST!? ALLAN ELECT! ON

PERTH, April 13

The Westralian State elections were held yesterday. They passed off quietly. There were 1.05 candidates going to polls

The position at present is obscure owing to the re-adjustment- of seats. Mr Davy (Deputy-header of the Opposition) has been elected. The prospects are that the Labour and anti-Labour forces will each secure twenty-five scats.

The unopposed returns have included the Premier, Mr Collier, and eight other Labourites, also lone Nationalist and one Country Party. On the first count Miss May Holman is- apparently re-elected for the Forrest seat.

Miss TJroinlmm. another lady candidate, has again been defeated in the Claremont district. These were the onlv two women candidates.
