Prendvillo (AVellington) asked what the Union’s policy was with regard to trial matches this year. Air Dean explained that it was intended to bold three trial matches, two in the North Island, and one in the South,. Air’ Prenclevill asked if there was any necessity for the' proposed trial game on May 14. It had also been rumoured that the ’ ' New Zealand TTivon intended to avertible the New Zealand team a week7 J •before'the first Test, and for the team to play at least one match before the'’first Test. ATr Dean explained that it was intended that tlie New Zealand team should play a match' against North Otago on the AVednesday before the first Test .Match, it wits not considered fair to ask the New Zealand team to take the field without at least one game together.

AU J. T, King advocated that the New Zealand v. Maoris match should be made an annual event. The exhibition which had been given by the Maori team in the first spell of that match had beqn brilliant, and bad the Maoris been (it they would have “towel Tod” the pakelias up a treat Ihe match' had done a* great deal, of good ifor the game in AVellington, and bad resulted iu a profit of £4OO. Thus from a playing and commercial aspect the Pakeha- v. Maoris match was a first-class proposition. If the fixture were made annual it would encourage the Alaori players.

The motion to recommend that the fixture be made annual was carried. The delegates decided that all matches played by the British team in New Zealand should be broadcasted.
