Almazin (who was arrested on a charge of murder and put through the third degree -severely) has been released after six months in prison, despite it having long been plain that there is no evidence of his guilt. Meanwhile the clamour in the French press is increasing against the third degree methods otf the police. 'A Committee of tlpo French Chamber to-day adopted a bill limiting the powers of the police over individual liberty ,including preventive detention, domiciliary searches, etc. The committee also called oil the Government to introduce another Bill to deal with arbitrary arrests and the investigation of crime.
Meanwhile the police have no clue to the murderer of Ragandiir.
