ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE
Alt Monday’s fixture in the above yards AY. Jeffries and Co., report an entry of 45 fat cattle, 70 fat sheep, 12 fat lambs, 280 store sheep and 58 store cattle.
Tjhe sale was marked by the absence of the usual buyers from a distance, competition being purely local. This coupled with, the fact that some butchers have taken on private buying affected the demand. Nevertheless prices were equal to Addington and in .some instances in advance. Fat sheep were not wanted and store ewes and lambs, also found a dragging sale. The following sales were made: — Ivor J. Condon and Son 2 bullocks at £l4 17s 6d, 4 at £l3 17s fid, 4 at £l3 12s 6d, 2 at £l3 2s, 2 at £l2 17s 6d, 8 at £l3 12s fid, 2 at £l2 2s 6d, 2 ' at £l2 17s fid. 2 at £ll 17s fid ; 4 heifers at £l2 12s fid, 3 at £1.2 7s fid, 3 at £ll 12s fid* 4 at £lO 7s fid, 4 at £lO 7s fid. H'oT- W. Olderog 12 fat lambs at 265.
For a client 4 lambs and 4 ewes at £l, 4 ewc.s at £l. 2 two-tooth Romney rams at £7 7s each,
The entry of Mr J. O’Regan of breeding ewes and store cattle, were massed under the .hammer but subsequently wore sold at satisfactory prices. •'
