ROME, April 4. The death lias occurred of Queen Victoria, of Sweden (a first cousin of
- e ex-Kaiser, and a descendant of the / “ olu Swedish Royal family of Vasa). It was a poignant fact that Queen Victoria was unable to recognise King Gustav, who arrived at her bedside while she was dying. . King Gustav reached Naples on Thursday, when I ,' in consequence of reassuring reports as to tju? Queen’s condition, he visited a theatre. The King immediately after received news that the Queen was worse, and m be therefore continued iris journey, to arrive just in time to (see her before her death.
Queen Victoria had suffered from lung trouble ior many years. Finally her heart weakened.
The King and Queen of Italy placed flowers on her death bed.

STOCKHOLM, April 5. The news of Queen Victoria’s death was received when the theatres were opening. The performances were abandoned.
All dancing and other anmsementa have ceased.
