CHIEF RAILWAY ENGINEER(By Telegraph-■-Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 2. Five years’ service as Chief Mechanical Engineer to the New Zealand Railways, will he completed on April loth next by Mr G. S. Lyncie, whose engagement with the Dep.-rt-ment will terminate on that da.vt. The appointment of Mr Lynde was made in accordance with a recommendation by the Sir Sam Fay—Sir Vincen Raven Railway Commission that steps be taken to appoint as Chief Mechanical Engineer an officer fuliy qualified and thoroughly conversant with up to date methods of railway working.
