WOOL MARKET
KEEN SYDNEY SALE. (Australian Press Association). SYDNEY, April 2. At the wool sales to-day the offerings wdre 9,755 bales. The number sold was 9,505 bales; also. 582 privately. There was the keenest general competition. The market closed equal to the best point of the series for all classes of merinos, while there was a very good demand for crossbreds. Greasy merino made 18 Jd. BETTER MELBOURNE COMPETITION. MELBOURNE., April 2. A feature of the wool sales at Melbourne during the week lias been the improved eompetitio.ii for practically all sections of the trade. Ninety-eight per cent, of the offerings were sold under the hammer. The top price yesterday was 14i(d per lb. The tone of the markets again was much improved today.
RISE IN PRICES AT GEELONG. MELBOURNE, April -2. At the Geelong wool sales, the market to-day ruled five per cent, better -Han last month. The demand was active for super wool.
