AGAINST FLYING POLICE SQUAD(Australian Press Association.) (Received this dav at 11 a.m.) CANBERRA, April 3. Roland Janies, a member of the Federal Parliament, caused a stir in the House by his denounciation of the flying police squad at Rothbury, stating he had sworn affidavits to support his claims. He accused the squad of insulting language to women, assaulting a one-legged digger, jabbing a revolver into the ribs of young women, batoning inoffensive lads and old men without any cause, and drunkenness on duty.
- He added: “I have nothing to say against the ort-e as a whole, but this squad went absolutely insane.' I repeat that they batoned and shot down men in cold blood and they are indecent.’’
