EVERYBODYS PICTURES“THE FAR CALL.” TO-NIGHT. Excitement, interest and romance vie with one another in “The For Call,” which opens to-night at the Princess Theatre. This new Allan Dwan production for Fox, Films is one of the most convincing sea dramas ever to reach the Koreeii; the tang o.f salt spray and the chill desolation of the Kooky Piihilofs are presented with exceptional realism. “Pal” Luring, adventurer, soldier of fortune and ,jovial free-Hooter, evolves a scheme to raid the protected rookeries on St. Paul Island on the Behring; Sea, first capturing the hand lul ol white nitMi at the government station to prevent their summoning a revenue cutter, and thus having a clear field to make a fortune in sealskins. Luring is aided by Storkerson, a giant Scandinavian sea-captain, and opposed Iby London Nick, a suave crook. When they reach the island a girl appears on the scene, and then the real trouble starts. Complications, action, (Irania and plenty of fights make the whirlwind finish more than meet the expectations caused by the rough-and-tumble opening of the picture. Charles Morton, the youthful Fox meteor, seems to have boon born lor the part ,of Luring. He lives the role to perfection, and again proves himself one of the most promising leading men of. the screen. The fair Leila "llyams gives a , splendid performance as the girl who musses up the poachers plans, and Ulrich Haupt. noted Prussian actor, handles the difficult role of the polished but deadly “heavy” in a way that, marks him as one of the finest character players in. fihiidoin. Allan Dwan, whose clever .work sustaining his re : putation as a master director, selected the supporting cast with an eye to suitability as well as acting talent. As a result the other figures are without exception perfectly.,, fitted to their roles, and form as tough a gang of sailorme-n as could he found in tlie old days on the Barbary Coast. Stanley J. Sandford, Charles Middleton, Arthur Stone, Ivan Linow, Warren fly liter., Pat Hardgaa, Dan Wollieim, Bernard Siegel arid Harry Gripp all have outstanding parts in the production, and give it must of its realistic atmosphere.' "" Altogether “The Far Call” is excellent entertainment; and well worth seeing. A Topical and Comedy will also : be shown.
