FASTEST MOTOR CAR. (Australian Press Association) FREMANTLE, April 1. The liner Ornmn, which arrived today from London, brought Sir Henry Segrave’s racing car, the “Golden Arrow,” which established the world’s record at Daytona Beach, U.S.A.
N.Z. PASSENGERS TRANSHIP. SYDNEi, April 1. Seven New Zealand passengers by the Makura were able to join the Narkunda for London to-day owing to the latter liner being held hack an hour for their convenience.
DEATH AT SEA. MELBOURNE, April 1. The death of Miss Clara Chettle, aged 30, a. passenger on the Mahono which arrived from Bluff on Saturday was inquired into hv Navigation authorities. The verdict was that death was due to natural causes. Criticism had arisen owing to the Mnheno carrying no doctor, although 213 passengers were aboard. The patient became ill, one day out from Bluff. Medical advice was obtained by radio. Miss Chettle died when the Maheno was about to berth.
