' Hundreds of applications from all over the world have been received, by the Government for .the position ox General Manager of tho. Ne>v. Zealand Reparations Estates in Western Samoa. . The Reparation Estates comprise an area- of approximately 100,090 ; acres, representing mainly former German--owned properties in Samoa, which the New Zealand- Government "took over as part of its share of the war repara- , tions, due by Germany in November 1928. The control aiid management of the estates were the subject of a searching investigation by the New Zealand Departmental Committee. The decision* to appoint a General Manager of the- j . estates was one result of the Com--Z mittee’s recommendations.
