THURSDAY, MARCH 27th. (Before W. Meldrum, Esq., S.M.) POLICE CASES. On 1 a charge of being found unlawfully on license premises (Dunedin Hotel) an offender was ordered to pay costs 10s. Ou a charge of procuring liquor while prohibited Peter Sou ter was fined £2 and cosfs, 10s. On a. charge of driving a gig without a light at night, Thus. Coyle, Junr., pleaded not guilty. Sergeant King stated the charge was the outcome of a collision between a gig driven !by defendant and a car driven by David Pettigrew. The d< mutant stated lie had borrowed a . embide lamp to drive home, but it had gone •out. He had no light at the time of the accident. Fined 20s and costs 10s. BOROUGH BYE-LAWS, Borough Inspector (Air Park) charged Tlios. Brooks with parking motor car in wrong position. Fined 5s and costs 20s 6cl. Same v. E. A. Hacked, charged with not having proper lights on motor lorry. Fined 5s and costs 20s 6d. Same v. Wm. Hutchison, a chaige of cycling without a light. lined os and costs 20s 6d. : -Same v. Wm Roche (Air Seilers) a charge of travelling at an excessive ifpeed in a motor car when rounding a corner. Fined 20s and costs 20s 6d. Same v Clarence'Soliroeder,. a charge of driving a motor car at an excessive speed at a- street intersection. Fined 20s and costs 20s (id. TRUANCY CHARGE. AY; D. Alackay. (Truant Inspector) charged John Singer with failure to send two ■ children to school. Defendant pleaded guilty. Fined 5s and costs 10s on each charge. MAINTENANCE ARREARS. Hector McDonald, of Christchurch, was charged with failure to pay maintenance arrears, totalling £l3 12s 6d. Air Alurcloch for complainant.
