MEETING OF UNION. The first Rugby Union meeting of the season was held last night at Greymouth, there being present Messrs A. Adams (chair), .1. Guy, T. Mclntosh W. Hannam, T. Scott, T O’Donnell, A. White, 1 Steel, W. Williams, J. .McLeod, T. Ryan, F. Wilson, and N. Jones (Secretary). Several circulars were received from
he New Zealand Union, referring to lotiees of motion to the annual meet-
ing on April 10th.—It was decided to leave the same over until the au/.ual
leeting next week. Atari borough Union wrote inviting
the West Coast Union to participate in an Inter-Provincial seven-a-side tourney, commencing on April 19, to commemorate the opening of their new ground and grandstand at Lansdowne Park.
it was decided that Club delegates be asked to bring the matter belore their clubs, and report at the annual
meeting. The Wallsend-Taylorville Syndicate wrote advising that they had decided to donate a cup to he competed for annually by senior teams under the Union’s control, such clip to remain tinproperty of the Union, tho Union to provide a miniature annually to he held by the successful club each season.
It was decided to accept the cup with thanks, and a letter be sent expressing the Union's appreciation of the assistance rendered by the Syndicate, especially in the district where
it was operating. A notice of motion for the annual meeting was read in reference to the alteration of the constitution of the Executive of the Union, the amendment to be as follows That the Executive of the W.C.R.U consist of a President, throe Vice-Presidents, Secretary, one delegate from each affiliated sub-union, and one delegate each from an affiliated club witli a senior team engaged in the Union’s senior
competition. It was decided to ask tin* club delegates to come prepared to submit teams at the annual meeting, so that an early start could be made.
A discussion arose as to playing areas for the season, and a third ground at Victoria Park was suggested.
The President and Secretary were delegated to interview the Trotting Club officials re the list' of Victoria Park for the season.
