It is many years since market conditions at Home for this Dominion's dairy produce have appeared as unsatisfactory as is the case at the present time. The announcement published in the Auckland “Star” on Friday to the effect that Tooley Street merchants had lowered the rate of their advances on butter and cheese presaged more unfavourable prices, and this unwelcome anticipation has been quickly realised. According, to cables received at Auckland on Saturday morning the market is demoralised, one authority giving as a reason that there is general repression for all commodities. If this be the cause, it is to ibe sincerely - looped the advent of cheap money will have a speedy effect in revitalising British industries and thus increase the spending power of the masses. Meantime dairy farmers will have to accept returns that will prove extremely disappointing, and factories are likely to have to face heavy reclamation bills.
