PARNELL BYEELECTION

REFORM CANDIDATE,
AUCKLAND, March 22,
Mr A. J. Burrows, of Devonporf, has announced his candidature in the Reform interests as a candidate for the vacant Parnell seat.
OTHER LIKELY CANDIDATES,
AUCKLAND, March 22,
Mr J. S. Dickson, who was for several terms Member for Parnell, states he is standing for the seat against all comers. At the 1921 election he polled ■t/9:i votes against Mr Jenkins’ 5642. 'I nc Labour candidate, Mr Yarrall, who then polled 1661 votes, may be also a candidate at the bye-election.
Mr Brima. Northeroft, the Auckland barrister, is also mentioned as a likely candidate in the interests of the Beiorni Party. The suggestion is also made that the Reform Party may yet endorse Mr Jenkins. It has not yet endorsed any candidate. The Auckland L.R.C. may take a ballot for the selection of a Labour candidate among the Unions. Mr Yarrall is again willing to stand in that capacity.
The United Party has yet to select its candidate, but it intends contesting the seat.
