LONDON, March 20

During the Coal Bill debate one woman in' the galleries caused some diversion by showering phamplilets on members, demanding the release of Indians imprisoned at Meerut last year cn charges of treason. She was removed.

The Standing Committee on the Traffic Bill accepted the Government’s proposals to abolish the speed limit. Mr Morrison hinted at new steps to maintain the safety of the roads and more severe penalties for dangerous driving. LONDON, March 21. The Liberal Party’s decision not to risk a dissolution has enabled the Government to pass safely through the dangers of the ..committee stage of the Coal Bill. The House of Commons rejected by 274 votes to 229, a Conservative motion to omit the provision empowering the District Coal Boards to fix a minimum price at which all classes of coal should he sold.

Some of the Liberals supported the Conservatives in their opposition to district levies for the purpose of facilitating the sale of certain class coal, but the Government carried its point. The Government also added a series of amendments giving effect to its undertakings to provide further safeguards for the consumers. The committee stage then concluded and . the House adjourned.
