EXCELSIOR FOOTBALL CLUB ANNUAL MEETING.

The Annual Meeting of the above Club was held in Keller’s Rooms 011 Wednesday evening, March 19th. Mr H. M. lOoiilsou (President) presided over a good attendance of members. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and approved. Inward correspondence read and received. The secretaries’ report and balance sheet weie read and adopted. ANNUAL REPORT. Wo have again to congratulate the Club on a very successful season, both from a financial and playing point of vjew. Teams ,wero entered in the senior, junior and 3rd- grade competitions. The seniors were again successful in annexing the championship, only suffering defeat in one match, against Blaketown, in the first game of the season. The juniors were not so fortunate, but provided some very interesting games. The 3rd-gradc only played one game and then dropped out of the competition, -the pige limit being a factor in them not being able to carry on, but it is hoped to be able to get them going again in the coming season. 011 June 3rd. ’ 7-asidc teams were entered in the senior and junior grades, the seniors being successful and holding the Toobcy Cup. Junior teams were sent to.Rpss. and Kumara 7-asides but were not successful.

Throughout the year the Club was well represented in rep. games, some nine players securing West Coast honours, while F. Freitas ably represented the Club and Coast in the North v. South inter-island match.

Although the two dances held during the season were not so successful financially as in previous years the Club finished up with a credit balance of some £l2, compared with a credit of £lO 16s od with which the Club started the year. The Club’s thanks are due. to the ver,v energetic ladies committee, whose very valuable assistance was well in evidence at the social functions held. Also to Mr AY. Keller for the use of his rooms for meeting purposes and to all others who worked so hard so make the season so pronounced a success.— Received.

Votes of thanks "wore passed to all outgoing officers and to all who had assisted the Club throughout the past season.

GENERAL

It was resolved that delegates be instruciod to interview Sub-Union re the altering of the 3-grade age limit from 18 to 19 years.
