A sensation in society and official circles followed a confession by Frau Mplnm,; the'jaristperatic wife of the Governor of" Pastsdatn, that she was responsible for a series of .thefts of silverware and cash from the Governor’s official, residence. Suspicions were, aroused when the Frau’s story of. masked bandits visit was found to contain discrepancies. She later confessed to her iiusband who informed the polide, and submitted his own resignation. His wife stated she took the money to pay big drapery bills.
