NEW TITLE HOLDERS.

WANGANUI, March 16
The Dominion Athletic Championships concluded at Cook’s Garden in fine weather on Saturday, before an attendance of 5000. In the evening the sensation of the events was 1). IK vans’ victory in. the, mile when he won handsomely in a strong field, taking the title from J. W. Suvidan, of Auckland. Thus, at his first Dominion championship meeting, Evans has annexed the mile and half mile titles.
Following are the results of the championship events: — Putting the Shot.—P. Munro (Wellington) 43ft lin 1; E. G. Sutherland (Wellington) 34ft s}in 2; P. Hunt ( Wanganui-Taranaki) 33ft s}in 3. *Munro, Australasian record holder, retained Ids title.

CONFER F.NOF OF DELEGATES. WAXGANFI, March 15
A conference of delegates, representing the amateur cyclists in the Dominion, was heldi'tl’i'fs morning re the dispute between flic Manuka Club and the N.Z.A.A.A.. Air Stewart, the Auckland delegate, explained the trouble, and said the Manuka Club desired more representation on the (Body controlled by the cyclists. After a lengthy discussion it was decided to change the name of the Controlling Body from the “New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association” to the “New Zealand A.A.A. and Cycling Association.” A conference' of delegates affiliated to the N.Z.A.A.A. 'followed. A remit from Canterbury that the three mile walk he deleted from the programme at the New Zealand Championship meetings was lost. A Oantorbuiv leant that the N. Z. Road Cycling Championship be over a distance ol 10 miles instead ol 50, and embrace teams race, was adopted. It was decided that the next Championships be held in AVeJlinglon,
